The Pond collection mark, the FWOG frog face on green

Solana NFT Breakdowns · 07

The Pond.
The FWOG Artist’s Hundred.

Episode seven of a series breaking down Solana NFT collections. One hundred one of one pieces by the artist behind FWOG, handed out by raffle priced in FWOG rather than sold at a mint.

The Pond is a 100 piece, one of one Solana NFT collection by Groowut, the artist behind the FWOG memecoin. SolanaFloor reported on 12 November 2024 that pieces went out as raffles at 50 FWOG a ticket. Magic Eden read a 13.99 SOL floor and 87 owners on 23 September 2026.

The Rise

What actually happened, with the date attached to each of them.

The Artist Came Before The Collection

Decrypt reported on 31 July 2024 that Titto, who posts as Groowut, drew the art for the earlier FLOG token without being paid, and that FWOG was launched by others to compensate him after FLOG collapsed. That article is about tokens and mentions no NFT at all.

November 2024, One Hundred One Of Ones

SolanaFloor reported on 12 November 2024 that Groowut was releasing a 1/1 collection of 100 FWOG profile pictures called The Pond, with 89 of them in circulation at the time of writing.

Raffles Priced In FWOG, Not A Mint

Pieces went out as raffles at 50 FWOG a ticket. SolanaFloor reported that the raffle for The Pond number 89 drew 2,633 tickets, 131,650 FWOG, worth over seventy thousand dollars at the time, and that a piece sold on Tensor for 260 SOL on 12 November 2024.

The Turn, And What It Cost

The part of the story people skip, at the same weight as the rise.

The Collections Named FWOG Are Not This One

Two separate Solana collections using the FWOG name say so in their own descriptions. One calls itself the unofficial Fwog NFT collection. The other calls itself a community driven homage to the original artist. Both read on 23 September 2026. That is the best sourced warning on this page, because it comes from the copycats themselves.

The Name Collides Across Marketplaces

The Magic Eden symbol the_pond is this collection. The Tensor slug the_pond is a different collection entirely, with a floor under a hundredth of a SOL. Anything that identifies this one by name alone can land you on the wrong asset.

One Outlet Covered It, Once

SolanaFloor on 12 November 2024 is the only named outlet found to have written about the collection. No piece was found from Decrypt, CoinDesk, The Block, Cointelegraph or nft now. The token has coverage. The art does not.

A Hundred Pieces Is A Hundred Prices

SolanaFloor flagged in November 2024 that only one Pond piece had sold on secondary at that point, which makes a floor hard to read. One of one work does not trade like a profile picture set, and a floor resting on twenty listings is a thinner signal than it looks.

What It Teaches

Three things that survive the cycle.

The Artist Is The Asset Here

Everything tying this collection to FWOG runs through one person and his account. There is no team in the sources, no roadmap and no documented mechanism between the token and the art. What is being bought is the artist attribution.

Check The Symbol, Not The Name

The FWOG name sits on at least three Solana collections and The Pond name on at least two. A collection is identified by its on chain address and its marketplace symbol. The name is marketing.

A Raffle Is Not A Mint

There is no SOL mint price for this collection because there was never a mint. Distribution priced in a memecoin means every holder’s cost basis moves with that memecoin, which is not how a fixed price mint behaves.

Common Questions

The artist behind FWOG, Groowut, made a 100 piece collection called The Pond, trading on Magic Eden under the symbol the_pond. The Solana collections that use the FWOG name itself describe themselves as unofficial or as an homage in their own descriptions.

Groowut, the handle of the artist Titto, who Decrypt named on 31 July 2024 as the artist behind FWOG.

By raffle rather than a mint. SolanaFloor reported on 12 November 2024 that tickets were 50 FWOG each. This page does not publish a mint date or a SOL mint price, because no source gives one and there was no conventional mint.

SolanaFloor reported a purchase on Tensor for 260 SOL on 12 November 2024. No higher sale from a named source was found.

Magic Eden returned 13.99 SOL and Forbes 14.97 SOL on 23 September 2026. The live table on this site covers the ten busiest Solana collections by volume, and this one is not among them.
