Okay Bears.
The Best Launch Solana Ever Had.
Episode five. Ten thousand bears, eighteen million dollars of volume on day one, a licensing deal with the biggest agency in sport, and a founder nobody can name.
Okay Bears is a 10,000 item Solana NFT collection minted on 26 April 2022 at 1.5 SOL. It did 18.4 million dollars of secondary volume on its first day, the first time a Solana collection beat the Ethereum launches, and signed a licensing deal with IMG that September.

The Rise
The launch that made the rest of the market take Solana NFTs seriously.
April 2022, The Launch Nobody Expected
Ten thousand bears at 1.5 SOL, roughly $145. On day one it did 18.4 million dollars, 187,543 SOL, of secondary volume. Hypebeast reported on 27 April 2022 that it was the first time a Solana collection had beaten the Ethereum projects on launch day volume.
September 2022, A Real Licensing Deal
It signed with IMG, one of the largest licensing agencies in sport and entertainment, to build consumer products. CoinDesk, 20 September 2022. Very few NFT collections have ever signed a counterparty of that size.
The Brand Kept Going After The Market Stopped
The project still publishes: an apparel distribution partnership, a Bitcoin Ordinals extension, philanthropic work on basketball courts. Those are the project’s own claims on its own site, which is how they are presented here.
What Cannot Be Verified, At The Same Weight
The honest limits of this page, which on this collection are the most useful part of it.
Nobody Publishes The Founders
Every source checked, including the project’s own about page, describes Okay Bears by its brand and names no individual. That is a fact about the information available, not an allegation, and it is the kind of thing to know before sizing anything.
The Peak Floor Is Not Published Here
No dated, reputable source gives a verifiable all time high floor for Okay Bears, so this page does not print one. Numbers get repeated between sites until they look sourced. This one is left blank on purpose.
It Was Not Sold. A Different Collection Was.
There is a documented 2022 sale of Not Okay Bears, an unofficial derivative collection, to an NFT influencer. That is a different collection. No confirmed sale of the official Okay Bears brand was found, and the two are routinely confused.
Most Of What The Brand Says Now Is Self Reported
The store partnership, the lifetime volume figure and the philanthropy come from the project’s own marketing, mostly undated, and were not independently confirmed. Quoted rather than endorsed, same rule as everywhere else on this site.
What It Teaches
Three things, mostly about what you can actually check.
A Record Launch Is A Marketing Fact
Eighteen million dollars in a day is real and it is a measure of attention, not of durability. The launch day number is the one that gets quoted for years and it tells you the least about what happens next.
An Anonymous Team Is A Position Size Question
It is not automatically bad. It does mean there is no one to hold to a promise, and a licensing deal with a large agency does not change that.
If The Number Has No Source, Do Not Use The Number
The peak floor for this collection is quoted confidently all over the internet and none of it traces anywhere. A page that leaves a gap is worth more than one that fills it with something that sounds right.
Supply and current floors from the live Magic Eden feed on this site, read 3 September 2026. Dated events from Hypebeast 3 October 2021 and 27 April 2022, Decrypt 17 February 2022, 13 February 2023, 20 April 2023 and 10 August 2023, CoinDesk 20 September 2022, 6 January 2023, 28 March 2023 and 10 August 2023, Cointelegraph 10 August 2023, The Block 12 May 2025, and CoinGecko for DUST token prices. Peak floor prices are not published where no dated source gives one.
