The First Market Opened
The first SC liquidity pool, an SC/SOL pair on Raydium, was created at 11:16 UTC. No publication reports a launch date, a deployer or a launch venue for this token, and the team is pseudonymous, so this is the on chain fact rather than a reported one. Decrypt puts it as "late last month" in an article from 18 April. Source: pool creation on Solana, contract .

The Peak, Five Days After The First Pool
All time high $0.3520, at about a $390 million market capitalisation. Five days from first market to peak. The price sites do not agree on this: CoinMarketCap puts the high at $0.249 on 3 April and Coinpaprika at $0.231191 on 7 April. Decrypt’s own reporting refers to "the March 31 peak", which is why that is the date here. Sources: CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, Coinpaprika, Decrypt.

She Found Out Because Someone Offered Her $15,000
An Instagram user offered $15,000 for the rights to use the cat on a different memecoin. Looking into that, she found several tokens already using her photographs, the largest being Shark Cat. She had not been asked by any of them. Source: Decrypt, 18 April 2024.

The Call Where They Showed Their Faces
On a video call she asked for a 10% stake, worth roughly $20 million at the time, plus a say in the project’s direction. The Shark Cat team joined with faces and legal names visible, which is how she was later able to identify one of them. Decrypt places the call between 1 and 8 April and does not give the day, so neither does this row. Source: Decrypt, 18 April 2024.

Ninety Minutes To Accept
The counteroffer, days after the call: 2.5 million tokens, which the team valued above $600,000, no say in direction, and, in emails Decrypt reviewed, ninety minutes to accept or the deal was off. She had earlier let a token based on her other cat use his likeness for a symbolic 1% stake worth about $500, because that team put the money toward his chemotherapy. Source: Decrypt, 18 April 2024.

The Team Called It Off In Writing
The Shark Cat team published a letter ending negotiations, after learning she had done the deal for the other cat. Their own words: "Throughout the last 10 days, we have been in communication with the Nala Cat team." Hostile posts from team members followed. Down Seventy Percent, And The Notices Were Out
Decrypt published the story. By then the token was down about 70% from a peak less than three weeks old, and her side had issued a press release stating it would pursue legal action, then cease and desist notices to the team members who had shown their names. Neither the press release nor the notices carries a reported date, only that both fell between 8 and 18 April. Source: Decrypt, 18 April 2024.

A Licence, Announced On X
The team announced a licensing agreement with the owner’s side, giving the project official rights to the image. Their post: "There’s been some bad back and forth these last few weeks, and we’d like to apologize on behalf of the community for any foul behavior." Source: the team’s post, 2 May 2024, quoted in Decrypt, 8 May 2024.

It Ended Without A Lawsuit
No lawsuit was ever filed. Decrypt reported the dispute settled into a licence whose terms stay private, and that the lawyer acting for the owner, Brandon Sample, did it pro bono. At publication the token was around $0.15, up 208% on the week and still 55% below the 31 March peak. This is the ending the first article did not have, and it is the one most retellings leave out. A Base Contract Appeared
A LayerZero omnichain contract for Shark Cat was deployed on Base at 10:30 UTC. CoinGecko lists it as the token’s Base address. No reporting confirms it as an official bridge and the deploying address carries an unrelated label, so it is recorded here as an on chain event and not as a project announcement. The Low
All time low $0.0004499, which is 99.87% below the high set twenty two months earlier. CoinMarketCap puts it a day later at $0.0004437; both are recorded here because they disagree. No tier one outlet has published on the Shark Cat dispute since September 2024. Sources: CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap.
The Chart, And The Contract
The chart lives on DexScreener and will not render inside another page, so this links out to it rather than showing you a box that never loads. The contract sits beside it so you can check the chart is the token this page is about.
Check the contract against the chart before you trust either. On both chains there is always a different token using the same name.
The Risks
Structural, and specific to this token.
Risk 1
The image is licensed rather than owned by the project, and the terms of the May 2024 agreement are private, so what the licence covers and how long it lasts are not public.
Risk 2
Supply spans Solana and Base, so bridge failures could affect holders.
Risk 3
No entity, treasury or product stands behind the token.
Supply, all time high and all time low from CoinGecko, read 2 September 2026. Launch details from the issuer's own announcements and from Solscan. Any price or market capitalisation inside the timeline is a dated snapshot, not a live figure. The live table is on the memecoins page. Every row in the timeline carries its own date and its own publication, and those are the sources. Supply, contracts, all time highs and all time lows come from CoinGecko, cross checked against CoinMarketCap and Coinpaprika. Where the aggregators disagree, both figures are printed and each is named in the row. Where a date is reported only as a month or a range it is written that way rather than narrowed. Direct quotations are reproduced from the reporting and attributed to the person who said them. Any price or market capitalisation in a row is a dated snapshot, not a live figure. Nothing on this page is a price forecast.

No. It is a breakdown of a token, which is a different thing. Memecoins have no cash flows and can go to zero. Nothing here is financial advice and Cody Wise is not a licensed advisor.
