Six Hundred Million

The bull case for PUMP as the people who hold it actually make it, and the case against at the same weight, starting with the unlock and the lawsuit.

The Bull Case, As Bulls Make It

Five arguments, stated at their strongest. This is the case the people who hold it make, not a forecast from this site.

It Owns The Category

Pump.fun is where most Solana memecoins of the last two years were born. Bulls argue the token is a claim on the tollbooth of an entire market, not a bet on any one coin inside it.

A Business That Actually Earns

The platform has taken in about $935 million in revenue since launch, according to TechTimes on 11 July 2026. Very few tokens sit on top of a product with that kind of income.

Demand Was Proven On Day One

The public sale raised $600 million in twelve minutes on 12 July 2025. Bulls read that as the clearest signal of demand any token sale has produced. Source: The Block.

Back Near The Sale Price

At $0.00416599 on 21 September 2026 it traded about 4 per cent above the $0.004 sale price, well off the June 2026 low of $0.00115473. Bulls see a token that has already been through the worst of it. Source: CoinGecko.

It Owns Its Own Exchange

Since March 2025 tokens that graduate from the launchpad trade on PumpSwap, Pump.fun’s own exchange, rather than on Raydium. The fees that used to leave the platform now stay inside it. Source: Cryptonomist, 21 March 2025.

The Case Against, At The Same Weight

The other half. If you skip it you are reading an advertisement.

The Insiders Unlocked

A third of the supply belongs to insiders: 20 per cent to the team and 13 per cent to investors. The one year cliff ended on 12 July 2026, with about 82.5 billion PUMP scheduled to release. On chain trackers counted 57.279 billion across 121 wallets. Less than half the supply circulates, so the selling pressure is still ahead. It Was Sued, Twice

Two class actions were filed in the Southern District of New York on 16 and 30 January 2025, alleging that the memecoins sold on the platform are unregistered securities. The business that earns the revenue is the business under legal challenge. Source: DLA Piper, February 2025.

The Revenue Is Other People’s Losses

The fees come from launching and trading memecoins, most of which go to zero. The income depends on a steady supply of buyers willing to keep losing, and that is a cycle, not a moat.

Competitors Are Taking Share

In the week to 11 September 2026 the StonkFun launchpad took $5.88 million in revenue against Pump.fun’s $4.73 million. Leading the category for two years is not the same as leading it next year. Source: Cryptopolitan.

Down By Half From The High

It was about 52.8 per cent below the September 2025 high on 21 September 2026, and fell as low as $0.00115473 in June 2026. Source: CoinGecko.

What I Take From It

Not advice. How the argument reads to someone who builds businesses rather than trades tokens.

Own The Platform, Not The Product

Pump.fun makes money whether any single coin wins or loses. Selling the picks and shovels is the stronger position in almost every gold rush.

A Great Raise Is Not A Great Price

Twelve minutes to $600 million proved demand for the sale. It said nothing about what the token would be worth once the insiders could sell.

Keep The Fees In House

Moving graduated tokens off Raydium and onto its own exchange was the most important business decision on this page. Every step of the transaction you do not own is margin you give away.

Common Questions

That Pump.fun owns the Solana memecoin launch category; that it has earned about $935 million in platform revenue since launch; that its sale raised $600 million in twelve minutes; and that its own exchange, PumpSwap, keeps trading fees inside the platform.
