Episode one of a series breaking down Solana NFT collections. What Gorillae Gang actually is, how its traits are built, and the gold fur gorilla in my wallet.
Gorillae Gang is a Solana OG NFT collection started in Tulum, 3,947 items trading on Magic Eden under the symbol gorillae. It describes itself as bridging into tokenised real estate access with a plastic recycling mission. Artwork is stored on Arweave and each item carries eight traits. I hold token #1110.

Three thousand nine hundred and fifty items on Solana, trading on Magic Eden under the symbol gorillae. A fixed collection, not an open edition, so supply is the number and it does not move.
What It Claims To Do
The collection describes itself as bridging the real world and web3 with access to tokenised real estate, a plastic recycling mission and staking. That is its own description of itself, quoted rather than endorsed. The coin the community trades is $GORILLAE, which has its own page.
Where The Art Lives
Arweave, one permanent transaction per token. That is the better half of NFT storage: no server to keep paying for and no company that has to survive for the image to resolve. The metadata also points at gorillaenft.io.
How A Gorilla Is Built

What It Cost, Against Today
Acquired at 11.11 SOL. The collection floor was 0.071 SOL on 5 September 2026, read off Magic Eden. Both numbers are on this page on purpose. The memecoin and NFT sleeve is sized to be written off, and this is what that sentence looks like with real figures attached rather than as a warning label.
Gold Fur
Fur is one of eight trait types and runs to fifteen values across the collection. #1110 carries the Gold one. Fur is the trait that sets the whole read of an item, because it is the largest coloured surface in the image.
On Rarity, Honestly
I am not printing a rarity rank for it. Why It Is On The Site At All

Where GORILLAE Came From
The collection had a staking platform and a utility token before it had a community coin. This is the account of a holder who was there, not something recorded on chain.
XLVA Was The Staking Token
Holders stored their Gorillae Gang NFTs in a staking platform and earned XLVA for it. That is the utility token the collection’s own Magic Eden description still names, and the gold coin engraved XLVA is its artwork. It is not the community coin. Its own page has the whole story.
There Was A Real Platform
A developer built it for the project. Holders could deposit a token, leave it staked and accrue XLVA against it. It worked, and while it worked the token had a reason to exist, which is more than most NFT utility tokens ever get.
It Broke In The Last Bull Run
The platform completely broke. The developer who built it had stopped working with the project and could not be reached, so there was nobody who could repair it, and it was never fixed. The token that depended on it had nowhere left to go.
The Community Relaunched With GORILLAE
GORILLAE is what the holders relaunched with afterwards. It is a community token with no protocol, no revenue and no treasury behind it, which is a different thing to a utility token backed by a working platform, and this site files it that way for that reason.
Why The Listing Still Says XLVA
The Magic Eden description was written while the staking platform was live and has not been edited since. It is accurate to what was built. It is not a description of what still runs.
The Part That Is Not A Chart
A Solana OG collection that started in Tulum, whose holders still turn up in the same room. That is the bit the market data does not capture.

Gorillae Gang holders at the Tulum Crypto Festival. I was there and posted it at the time. A Solana OG collection that started in Tulum and still gets people onto planes is a different signal to a floor price.
What Both Assets Actually Are
A way for the community to speculate on its own effort. The work is the meet ups, the environmental angle and the building that started in Tulum. The NFT and the coin are the tradeable claim on whether any of it amounts to anything. That is the thesis, said plainly, first hand as a holder in the DAO since mint day. It is a description of what the assets are for, not a statement about what either is worth, and the numbers on this page are the answer to that second question.
Guardians Of Nature, Bananas, Solana OG
The three things the group actually organises around, in its own order: protecting the natural world, an entirely unserious running joke about bananas, and Solana maximalism from the OG end of the chain. The @GorillaeDAO account puts the same thing formally as wellness, investing, technology and environmental activism. Mine is the informal version, first hand, and the joke is load bearing: a community that cannot be silly about itself does not keep people turning up four years later.
Where The Community Actually Is
The token metadata points at @gorillaedao on X and a Telegram group, and the collection sits on Magic Eden under the symbol gorillae. Those three are the live surfaces. The 2022 website is not one of them any more.
How They Describe Themselves
The @GorillaeDAO account calls it a “Web3 Tree House” and an “OG Solana Community building since 2020”, lists wellness, investing, technology and environmental activism, and sets its location to Tulum, Mexico. Read 3 September 2026. Their description of themselves, quoted rather than endorsed. Note the dates: the community says 2020, the collection is 2022.

Why This Is Filed As Community
The token is worth about two and a half thousand dollars and trades three times a day. Calling that a top 10 memecoin would be false, so it is here instead, with its real numbers on its own page.

Four checks, applied to this one and to every other one.
Even The Supply Moved
This page published 3,950 on 3 September 2026 and Magic Eden returned 3,947 from the same endpoint two days later. Three tokens is not a story. A supply figure that moves at all is, on a page that had called supply the one number nobody can spin. Floor moves, volume moves, holder counts get farmed, and the count of the things themselves is only ever as fixed as the source you read it from. The number here is the live one, dated, and it will be wrong again the day it changes.
Read The Storage Before The Roadmap
Art on Arweave outlives the team. Art on a company server is a subscription somebody has to keep paying, and when they stop, the collection becomes a row of broken images. This is the cheapest check available and almost nobody runs it.
A Coin Attached To An NFT Is Two Risks
A collection that also has a coin has two things that must keep working, and they do not fail at the same time or for the same reasons. Every added mechanism is more surface area. That is a statement about structure, not about this project.
Listed Is Not Supply And Volume Is Not Demand
